The Latin America region is experiencing an oil industry activity boom benefiting the local and regional economies. In recent years, the oil industry has significantly increased exploration and production activities in heavy oil in the Andean foreland, deepwater in Brazil, Mexico, French Guyana and unconventionals in several Latin American countries. This is seen especially in Argentina with the Vaca Muerta Formation and in Mexico and Colombia. This makes ICE a perfect setting to deliberate and launch constructive dialogues on energy integration and prosperity for the region.
ICE has the support from several affiliated organizations and the participation of National Oil Companies as well as private companies active in the region. Special sessions delineated by country (Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Mexico, Peru, Trinidad & Tobago) will be held to discuss the most important developments in those countries.
Taking into consideration the key role of regulators, especially for development of unconventional and deep water plays, a workshop with representation of key regulators from the region will be held to examine current progress, challenges, and learnings. Finally, a plenary session with high level representatives of various regional national oil companies and a special session on global trends with other international oil companies will be held as well.
On behalf of the Conference Committees we welcome you to attend and participate in this significant global event for 2013.
