Classes or assignments: which is more important?

Most of the time, we students are unsure whether or not we take classes or finish tasks. Both are vital for students, but when circumstances become dire, a student must choose between the two. As a result, I'm curious as to what we should do if such a situation arises. What is the best way to solve this issue?
