Hard to say. Especially if you are a newbie. You see, any inferred scope is a high-tech hunting device that can give the owner a tactical advantage. For infrared rifle scope www.atncorp.com/thermal-scope-thor-hd from ATN, bad weather conditions are not a hindrance, you can easily detect targets at a distance of 1 km or more and conduct long-term observation, since the battery life is from 6 hours. So, you`d better give it a try. Good luck
I run this set up on my DTA , this rifle has a full length pic rail long enough for both my S&B P2 and the TICO mounted forward of the scope , ( in total consuming about 18 inches of rail space to mount , overall length of both optics is closer to 24 inches ) The disadvantages of all civilian thermo optics is the pixel grid under magnification over 5x (five power ) .. unless you get into the 35 -50K + market .. The TICO 640 is all you’ll need out to 300m + , it has a built in AMRS base for quick installation - has a built in power range up in 2X increments up to 8X, as I said earlier more than the pixel can handle for long range shots - for that reason and the fact that i only use the thermal under certain conditions , i wanted something totally modular that i could quickly mount in from of my scope only when needed . - by doing this i assure total zero ( which matters on long shots )
Hunting with a thermal sight is a real pleasure. Night hunting is simply wonderful. This article www.agmglobalvision.com/the-best-thermal-scope-for-hunting helped me choose a night sight for hunting. I am now enjoying night hunting with my new scope.
