What to Pack and Bring When Visiting Stonehenge

Going to Stonehenge, Britain, United Kingdom? Assuming you're intending to buy Stonehenge tickets, coming up next is some significant data about when to go, what to wear, and what to pack.

 

Here are some general tips on what to wear in Stonehenge, as well as several items to remember in order to make the most out of your Stonehenge tour:

 

Leave valuables at home and travel light

 

In accordance with the level of threat from terrorism at the time, additional security measures will be implemented at Summer Solstice.

The Monument Field will only permit small bags (about 30cm x 25cm x 15cm) and searches will be done. We strongly encourage you to only bring what is absolutely necessary. Any prohibited objects will be seized, and entrance will be denied.

Since many go to the Monument barefoot and because animals and other species graze nearby, glass is not permitted there. Glass goods that you bring with you will be seized. Any additional items that might harm visitors or the Monument are also included.

Please refrain from bringing pets to Stonehenge. Service animals are not permitted in Monument Field. Animal waste not only poses a health concern to youngsters and anyone walking barefoot, but it also has the potential to disturb nearby wildlife and livestock.

Camping and Sleeping

You may bring a small ground sheet or blanket, however sleeping bags or duvets are not allowed due to safety concerns. Please don't bring chairs (unless they are being utilized as a certified disability aid), and no shooting sticks.

Camping, including the construction of tents, fires, and BBQs is not permitted at Stonehenge, at the Solstice Parking Lot, or anywhere else on the nearby National Trust property.

 

Items with blades or sharp points

No sharp-edged or pointed objects that could be used to inflict significant injury are allowed.
