QuickBooks Error H202 is an error that occurs when QuickBooks is unable to access a company file on a computer that requires additional configuration. This error typically indicates network connectivity issues, firewall settings, or problems with the hosting configuration. Troubleshooting steps include checking network settings, verifying hosting configuration, and using the QuickBooks File Doctor tool to resolve the issue.

1. Use QuickBooks File Doctor:
Download and run the QuickBooks File Doctor, a tool provided by Intuit to diagnose and fix common QuickBooks errors, including H202.
You can download QuickBooks File Doctor from the official Intuit website.

2. Verify Hosting Settings:
Open QuickBooks on each workstation.
Go to "File" > "Utilities."
If the option "Stop Hosting Multi-User Access" is available, select it.
If the option "Host Multi-User Access" is available, choose it.

3. Check QuickBooks Services:
Press "Windows + R" to open the Run dialog.
Type "services.msc" and press Enter.
Look for the QuickBooksDBXX service, where XX represents the version number.
Ensure that the service is started and set to Automatic.

4. Adjust Firewall Settings:
If you are using a third-party firewall, make sure it is configured to allow QuickBooks access.
Add exceptions for QuickBooks executable files in your Windows Firewall.
If you have antivirus software, check if it has firewall capabilities and adjust settings accordingly.

Greetings,
Peter
