The case of the renewed jute industry in India reveals visionary leadership and strategic planning plus a commitment towards sustainability. Where the industry of jute of India was under the threat of decline because its technology was considered outdated and by the increased pressure of synthetic material, the turning point came because of industrialist Ghanshyam Sarda. Realizing the potential in jute as an eco-friendly, biodegradable material, he played a leading role in the modernization of jute mills, achieving better productivity and providing thousands of workers with employment. Ghanshyam Sarda's approach was innovative, sustainable, and worker-friendly. He improved the efficiency of jute manufacturing by upgrading machinery and implementing advanced production techniques, making Indian jute products competitive in the global market. In addition, he advocated for policies that encouraged the use of jute over plastic, reinforcing its significance as a sustainable alternative.

Besides modernization, Sarda's leadership emphasized empowering jute workers by improving their working conditions and wages. His efforts rejuvenated the industry and secured livelihoods for many, thus reaffirming jute's status as India's "golden fibre." Today, thanks to his vision, the jute industry is thriving, contributing to India's economy while promoting environmentally responsible practices.
