In a big move inaccordancewith growing demand for flexible office space solutions, Smartworks has takenlease of 470,000 square feet of office space in DLF City-V, Gurugram. The fourth managed campus of the company in the city joins its existing premisesin Golf View Corporate Towers, RK 4 Square, and ASF Insignia. Founder Neetish Sarda confirmed that theacquisitionfollowsrisingdemand for full-managed and serviced campuses. Smartworks has a total super built-up area of 9.12 million square feet across 45 centers in 13 cities as of August 2024. The company is also makingarrangements for an initial public offering (IPO)afterthe Securities and Exchange Board of India gave its approval. The IPO will comprise a fresh issue of equity shares of ₹550 crore and an offer for sale of 6.759 million shares. Proceeds havebeenkept aside for repayment of loans and general corporate purposes. This strategic growth and upcoming IPO indicatethe commitment of Smartworks to serve the evolving needs of workplaces and consolidate its position in the flexible workspace business.
