India, known for producing some of the best engineering minds, has introduced Trashcon, a startup that has transformed the country’s recycling industry. Unlike conventional recycling methods, Trashcon has developed an automated waste segregation system, efficiently sorting metal, wet, and dry waste. With an impressive 85% segregation efficiency, the wet waste is composted, while the dry waste is converted into granules, which are then used to manufacture compressed boards—a sustainable alternative to traditional materials. This innovative approach has garnered global attention, including investment from Boundary Holding, led by Rajat Khare, an IIT Delhi alumnus based in Luxembourg. Such investments indicate a rising interest from dynamic investors in sustainable waste management solutions.
