Bellhaven Copper & Gold Inc., is a Canadian-listed (TSX-V: BHV) exploration company exploring for gold and copper in Panama and Colombia. The Company’s objective is to be a leader in responsible gold and copper development in Latin America. Bellhaven will focus on discovery, acquisition, and development of high-quality resources in a safe and responsible manner for the benefit of all of its stakeholders.
The Company's advisors, directors and highly motivated management team have decades of business experience in Latin America, a deep knowledge of the geology of mineral systems and a strong track record of discovery and delivery of value to shareholders. Julio Benedetti, a Panamanian and the head of the Panama Chamber of Mines, is Bellhaven's CEO and leads much of the Latin American business development efforts, as well as the Panamanian office.
The Company’s principal assets are the advanced-stage La Mina porphyry gold-copper project in the world class Middle Cauca Porphyry Belt of Colombia and an extensive package of concessions and applications along a highly prospective 60km long trend of high-sulphidation epithermal gold and porphyry copper prospects in the Azuero Peninsula of Panama.
Exploration is presently active at La Mina, Colombia, where the Company recently announced an inferred mineral resource of 1.6M oz of Au and 419M lbs of Cu contained in 80 million tonnes averaging 0.62 g/t Au and 0.24% Cu. After generating some excellent results at the Pitaloza Project in Panama during 2011, the Company put the Panamanian projects on care and maintenance until the government of Panama completed its revision of its mining law and granted pending mineral concession applications. As of April 2012, the government of Panama approved a new mining law, but the Company’s mineral concession applications remain pending as of Q3 2012.
