Can you use Vaseline on a gun?

Vaseline is a natural product that can be used on anything, not just guns. This gun lubricant, which is devoid of acid and resin and is of the highest white quality, is perfect for lubricating both internal and external metal parts, particularly barrels.

Vaseline jelly may release flammable fumes when heated to exceptionally high temperatures of greater than 400 degrees Fahrenheit." "Petroleum jelly has a self-ignition temperature above 290 and a flash point between 182 and 221 degrees Celsius.

Given that it is relatively solid at room temperature, if enough of it is applied to the inner workings, it will create drag and raise the likelihood of a misfire, unsuccessful ejection, or misload. If you have no other options, it might work in a pinch, but you should clean it and reapply a more specific lubricant as soon as you can.
