SVR Global leads in the surge anticipator valve manufacturer in Canada. It helps protect pipes and pumping systems from those dreadful pressure surges and water hammers. They have designed their Surge Anticipator Valves to alleviate spiking pressure anticipated in critical infrastructure systems, leading to safety and longevity.
Working:
A surge anticipator valve is one of the control valves employed for the protection of the piping system from an immediate surge pressure. They are usually referred to as surges of water hammer. Surges of water hammer happen when the flow of the liquid changes suddenly, such as when it is made into a pump or off. This valve senses the buildup of the surge and opens for just a moment to relieve the excess pressure from the system.
A pilot system is included to sense changes in line pressure. Once the change is detected as a pressure drop as a result of the pump trip or similar event, the valve opens ahead of the surge allowing controlled blow-off of pressure without over-pressurizing the system and protecting the same. When the pressure stabilizes the valve automatically closes readies for the next cycle.
